Prerunners B II under construction (finally!)

I haven't read the thread so I don't know what your plans for tires or power train are so I'm basing my reply on your first post stating 4.0L. IMO if you aren't turning tall and heavy enough tires that you need SD axles then don't run them. SD axles are heavy and the components inside of them...

    5.0 in Bronco II

:icon_confused: Dude the thread is almost a year old, you'd have been better off (a) starting a new thread, (b) posting in your already existing thread, or (c) searching and reading some more. C would have been the best answer because this topic has been covered many times. Now what about...

    carbs and tfi never mix!!!

I imagine so, never drove the truck with a 2bbl. Dad did most of that work to the engine back in the late 80s, I was less than 5 at the time. I'm guessing that it was one of the earliest conversions to the Offy and 4bbl done on a Ranger. The truck was a former fleet truck that dad got cheap, and...

    carbs and tfi never mix!!!

If you are saying a little over $600 for the 4bbl stuff new you might want to recheck your numbers. The intake manifold for that runs around 600 by itself. The 390 cfm vacuum carb is another $300+. My 84 ran best when it had the 390 CFM double pumper, the vacuum secondary never worked quite...

    HID's in my 86 B2

What Pete is trying to say is that the kit comes with a wiring harness for the lights. It doesn't draw power through the factory wiring it only uses the factory wiring to power a couple relays. The power for the HIDs comes from the battery through the relays. So if you are buying that kit you do...

Sorry I was typing my reply same time as you were, didn't see your post till after I hit submit. Wasn't questioning your reply in the slightest.

I know in older vehicles they would put the in the bottom of the seat. I highly doubt that they do that anymore though. There used to contact info floating around the net for a department at Ford which would provide them for a small fee. Never bothered remembering or bookmarking it though...

If you had $2000 what will you do?

I'd put it in the bank for a rainy day and keep driving the BII. Sooner or later something expensive is going to break and you'll wish you had that money when it does. It's a 25 year old truck so it'll likely happen sooner than later.

lowering kit help... 88 bronco 2

As The Mud Addict stated you will need to swap out the BIIs axle pivot brackets for those from a 2wd Ranger. The 2wd BIIs have a lift compared to a 2wd Ranger and part of that comes from the pivot brackets being taller. Even with the brackets those still won't be a bolt in swap. The beams you...

    2.8 Headers?

Sorry, Pete not everything is about you. I was posting that for anyone who is reading the thread and doesn't know. That being everyone that thinks headers are going to make a huge worth while difference on an otherwise stock engine. I happen to disagree with you about the 2.8L overall, though I...

    2.8 Headers?

Headers by them selves ain't going to do much other than possibly increase sound. What they really improve exhaust flow, though that's not likely to get you much on a stock engine. It will increase the benefits of nearly any other mod you do to the engine, especially those which result in a more...

Ford Bronco II Sway Bar End Links

Looks to me like you could do the same thing on a TTB/TIB front suspension. Just use a large clevis pin, like one for a tractor, in place of a bolt on factory end link. Unfortunately that won't work on an SLA set-up as its one long bolt with two bushings on either end. Something else could...

Ford Bronco II Sway Bar End Links

I keep hearing talk of quick disconnects but never seen them. Got any pics or links you could share? Are these just for the TTB/TIB RBVs or can they be gotten for the later model SLA rigs as well? Obviously the rear would be the same but I've never seen them for that either.

Ford Bronco II Sway Bar End Links

Ok took a tape measure to both when I got home from work. The explorer end links are 1.5" longer than the BII links by my measure. Holding them side by side, the design and offset of both appeared to be exactly the same just different lengths. The Explorer is a 99 2wd EB with V8, the links...
