4.0L Swap - Fuel line Compatibility

When I did the 4.0 swap in my Ranger, I used the fuel lines from a 1990 BII from the fuel filter forward. Explorer will also work. Plugged right in.

4.0L Engine Swap - Fuel line Spring Lock Coupling Issue

The plastic one should work fine. You might need to spray some PB Blaster into the connector because the springs get sticky and packed with gunk. Spray it, wait a few minutes, and the tool will likely pop it right out.

    Questions about a 2.9 rebuild

Dude, you have an '89. I wouldn't even bother with the 2.9. A 4.0 bolts directly in and the exact wiring diagram you need for the swap is in the Tech Library. I did the 4.0 swap in my '89 Ranger and it's the best thing I've ever done to the truck. You'll start out with an engine that is...

Picked up a 1990 Bronco II XLT over the weekend

You've got the D35 and a manual t-case so you have the highly sought after manual 1354 case. Looks like it may have manual hubs to boot. Swap the A4LD for an M5OD, the 7.5 for an 8.8 and you have a solid drivetrain. Plus... A 4.0 is basically plug-and-play in a '90 BII. That truck has TONS...

    Bronco II vs. "the youth"

One area that has not been mentioned yet, but may be a big factor, is stereo system. Most newer vehicles have a system from the factory that is nigh impossible to change without mucho custom work. Many are integrated into other systems in the car which basically means NO change. A BII has a...

    Looking at this tomorrow...good deal?

If you wanna go that route, you want a 1990 model. Your 4.0 swap will be a breeze. To the OP, that would be very high around the Atlanta area. If it's in immaculate condition it might be worth that. It doesn't mention the year or miles so it might be an '88 with 60k original miles. It is the...

    Another $50 Paint Job

They have it at Tractor Supply Co. They have my orange (Kubota Orange), green (John Deere Green), blue (Ford Tractor Blue) etc. $29.99 a gallon. TSC Paint This is the Ford blue but they have about any color you want. Just type tractor paint in the search bar. How long does it last? Does it...

    bronco ii engine swap

You're carbed on an '84. Since it is now 25 years old, it would be emissions exempt in most areas. And also since it is an '84, you're going to be changing out the transmission anyway. Therefore, I'd go 5.0. Easier than 4.0 if you decide on a carb, wiring will be the same amount of work as...

    Finally chopping the top

Love that design! Great idea and keep posting progress. I'm especially wondering if that will significantly lessen the body flex that plagues chopped BIIs.

    B2 4.0 Swap... Project Edgar!!

Your '89 will be a fairly easy swap. I completed the 4.0 swap in my '89 Ranger last year. Totally worth it! I'm sure it rock in a BII! If you would like, I can send you my wiring diagram that I used for the swap.
