Can anyone tell me where this sensor (Intake Air Charge Temperature) is located? Manual shows those after 89 located at the air filter but not the location of those before that (86). Looked everywhere online to no avail. A picture would be better.

I just pulled out my Factory EVTM to post a picture... but there isn't one in the manual. They show the 2.3L location... but it appears they completely missed the 2.9L component locations. The 2.9L in MY 86 is a speed density system and uses an ACT. Mass air systems use an IAT. The difference in the two is where temp is monitored. IAT sensors are installed in front of the throttle plate (Intake Air) while ACT sensors are installed below the throttle plate (Air Charge).

While I actually own a 2.9L... I can't tell you exactly where it's at. I'm going to say it has to be located in the lower intake with a two wire connector and if it wasn't dark thirty here... I could go look. I do know a few people that do frequent here that will know... @RumPunch @ecgreen @tw205

It’s this what your looking for? Passenger side center intake runner.
Edit- picture is 89 BII with 91 2.9 and 87 intake and throttle body.

I guess I should have known it was in the upper intake...

Thanks for the photo!
