Depends on how you drive and on what. I haven't personally gone over 31" as that suits for what I do. I do have a set of 35" waiting tho.
I'd probably run whatever until something breaks, then upgrade. Keep in mind the tow bill or work to get you're truck when you break.
Others will disagree.

it not that you cant it a matter of how long before that d28 breaks with either, if you plan on doing big wheelin and offroad plan on a d35 swap in your near future with either, now you can run 33 with just a lot of fender triming or put a 6" lift and fender trim or body lift for the 35". im running 33" on a roughcountry 6" lift with no fender trimming, but i need another inch or two of lift to stop all the rubbing.

with the 2in body 4in rc and a little fender trimming both sizes can be ran, i would either straight axle it with that 35 or a 44, or go get the stronger d35 ttb that basicly bolts right in

Been debating the explore d35 but the lifts are cheaper for the jeep and easy to find on craigslist

the TTB d35 is stronger than a Jeep d30, and it bolts right in.

To do a solid front axle requires custom work done. If your gonna go through the trouble you should get a d44 or something. You can't just buy a jeep lift and slap it under your B2.

33s are going to brake shit on the d28 (Hell plenty of people brake shit with 31s) nevermind 35s. Dont forget you'll need new gears with tires that big.

thats another point the *dont know if you call it biggest or smallest* gear ratio you can fit in a d28 is 4.10 which works perfectly with 32 and 33, any thing bigger in tire size puts you in the d35. by the way ive been running 33 on my 28 for a year, and nothing has broke, then again i haven't pushed her hard enough for stuff to break

I have 4.10s with limited slip it was an auto converted to Manual and yes I understand I can't just shove it under their lol I have plenty of fab experience and what I can't do I have plenty of friends with way more experience the only reason I brought up the jeep axle SAS is I can get it for free with 6in lift springs from the same tow truck driver

But I have a 8.8 1998 disc rear lined up for 150 and the tow truck driver has a 1995 explore setting in the yard I could get the d35 from

Well it looks like you have plenty of options. If it was me i would go with the d35 since you already bought the lift kit, if you can return the kit i would recomend a d44 sas or the d35 sas

1. I wouldn't do either tires on those axles
2. I wouldn't spend money to regear those axles
3. swap to explorer stuff or larger

Yeah, I prefer to avoid trail-side axle changes... Thats a bitch of a job at home with the TTB front ends if you havn't done a c-clip elimination first. Having to do it on the trail would make me wanna cry.

I couldn't make the stock axles last with 30" tires trying to hunt out my B2...

I ran a 4.0, 7.5" with 4.56 and a locker and 35's for years without ever breaking a shaft, maybe I got lucky?

I did however break many a thing on a D28 with just 31's... My D35 with 4.56 and locker has stood up to 35's just fine though.

the 7.5" is a decent enough axle. its not strong, by any stretch, but its not a weak piece of trash like the d28 is either.

Also doesn't have the huge hassle of swapping axle shafts that the TTB axles do, because you can just pull the cover off a rear axle.

I still wouldn't spend the money on gears or a locker for the 7.5 though. Might as well spend that money on an Expo 8.8 and start from there.
