Finally found the replacement O-Ring at NAPA that the Ford dealership wanted $ 12.50 for, however it did include a 4x4 sticker (yippee):headbang:
The Ford part # F3TZ-1K106-A is replaced by a 3.50" I.D. x 3/32" thickness, Napa part # 727-2153. Hope this info helps somebody if needed.:icon_cheers:
This is the o-ring between the backside of the hub and the rotor.

You talking about the big oring behind the hub body on the pre-98 hubs?

You Thief!

What did you do, stash them in your pockets?
not at all. i walked into the office with a set of d-35 axle C-clips and thrust washers and a fistfull of hub o-rings, showed them to george and he rolled his eyes and waved me away :icon_thumby:

me and george go back...

Good info, I'll see if they still have them.

How are those NAPA o-rings holding up? I tried this same thing a few years ago with a Carquest o-ring and within 2 years it was trashed. I'm not sure but I suspect it had to do with the material the o-ring was made from. I finally just got a service kit from WARN #39128 (I have a '86 with D28 axle but I think it also had the parts for a D35). Though I think it ended up being nearly $20 at the local speed shop, but it covered both hubs.

i got a new set of mile marker hubs that had thicker o-rings, they were on for about a month and i took them off to drill them with the new rotors and both o-rings had broke, so ive peeled the old o-rings off the other set of hubs and am going to try that. would high-temp rtv (the red stuff) do any good? im thinking no, what with the temps that brakes get to. heres a pic of the new rotor and hub after drilling/tapping. no more of those circle clips! (3) 1/4-20 ss screws. going to anti-seize them as well.

HMOG!! Enter that Ford F3TZ... part # into Google, and all the "genuine" Ford parts places want $42-$51 for ONE SINGLE THIN FRIGGIN' O-RING!! Are these rated for Space Shuttle use??? INSANE!

... I smell Federal RICO violations... Crikey.

On a milder note, NAPA won't let me have just 2... they izz makin' me buy 5 of 'em... only a $1.69 each...

What do these o-rings do? I pulled my wheels off for a rotate/balance at the shop the other day and my hubs more or less came off with the wheels....does the o-ring keep the hubs in place?

No it seals the hub to the rotor once the wheel is torqued down. Keeps dirt and water out of your wheel bearings
