Will the A4LD automatic bolt up to the 302? Has anyone ever tried this?

Given how weak the A4LD is in the first place behind a tiny V6, I don't think I'd want to put it behind a 302. I'm sure with enough money you could get someone to build an adapter for it. In stock form I don't recall the A4LD working with any V8's as a direct bolt on. You'd also really want to have that transmission rebuilt with all heavy duty parts which I don't think really exist given the original usage of the A4LD which was with V6 and 4 cylinder engines and it had a hard enough time staying together at that, so behind a V8 and other higher HP engines I don't think its going to work as you'd hope. I think a C4 or a C6 would work but of course you wouldn't have overdrive...maybe an AOD would work if you want overdrive. I think many of the 302's had the C4 or C6 behind them depending on what the engine was installed in.

Thanks, I kind of figured that was the case. I have seen a lot of you 302’s in Bronco 2’s just was fire sure if they were using the originally transmission or not.
