I am considering an engine swap for my 89 Bronco II. I have a 2004 4.0 and what you all thought about the feasibility of using a wiring harness from a 91-95 explorer or ranger to put in my Bronco. What do you think?

That isn't going to work...

2004 4.0L is a SOHC engine... 91 to 95 would be OHV type engines. I also believe the ECM is different.

From what I read uncle gump you are correct! 91 through 94 easy 4.0 swap. Other year’s are little more difficult. Me personally if I was gonna swap it, I would do a 5.0 and be done with it. No more work to do one or the other, just time. Body lift makes it easier to do! Plus you have more power with the 5.0b

Do a search over at The Ranger Station.

There are a couple three there. I believe one person was working on a write up. He used a stand alone system and was even wling to share some calibration files he did.
