Respectful of value? With an underhood fire? Scrap value should suffice.

Even if one wanted to drop in a 5.0 V8, you'd still have other harnesses to worry about under the hood and through the firewall.

Let's face reality here. That's one hell of an ambitious project for most.

Life is more fun if you own a Ford Bronco II
If one wanted to swap in a newer 2.7 or 3.5, maybe a popular 4.0, were talking stripping out the entire engine bay, prepping it, replacement motor, new mounts, alternator, AC compressor, starter and harness. Not to mention the AC/Heater units on the firewall which are only available in a junkyard. What are we talking about; $7500-$9,000? I always want to treat people respectfully. Why don't you come up with a price and we'll go from there.
