Found two connectors under my 87 b2. What are they for?

one was near the fuel sending unit under the drivers side along the frame. I noticed it looked like a speedometer plug for a VSS as I just replaced the worn out one but I cant find where it goes to. The other is next to the transmission pan and again no idea where it runs to. Also I found a part in the engine bay that I have no idea what it is and it's not hooked up to anything. It's to the right of the radiator near the head light. Black box looking thing. It has a tube running over near the alternator. I cant find any reference to this stuff in the repair manual i bought.
