holley swap

i recently bought an 84 bronco ii that has the offy intake and 390 holley with the msd ignition it has the c5 transmission and it seems kinda sluggish also the mpg kinda sucks its only getting like 11 mpg i figured it might would be better than that has anyone else done this swap? also my heat kinda sucks with the blower motor off it does ok but with the blower motor on it just sucks i'm going to replace the thermostat and heater core all at once what thermostat do you all recommend i put in it also does anyone have a picture of how the heater core hoses should run from the engine to the heater core

Ditto on the carb being to big. No more then 325 - 350 max c.f.m. .
They only recommend 390 if your running the 4-bbl intake manifold.
