It had lots of orange peel cracks and scale. The scales were smoothed out with 220 grit W/D. To fill the whitish crevices, I will try some color correct leather restorer.
Opinions? Experiences? It's all good.
Moocher's gracias.

Plenty of BII people in here. I have no idea what a wind wear panel is.

Can I get a translator?

My name is translator Hans Heinzenschwagle. Wanna Frankfurter? Just kidding. Well, I think it is a wear panel (on my 1989 Bronco II) that protects the paint on the roof at the rear from turbulence cause by the roof rack and/or from cargo. But, I could be mistaken. It's a permanent vinyl sticker the same color as the body. It's about 30 inches X 6 inches and it is right behind the rack almost to the edge of the roof.

Actually, the panel is on the rear gate. Here's the final result.

🤔. None of my Bronco II’s have that. I’ve seen them on other vehicles but as rock chip protection on lower fenders and rockers. My Super Duty has them behind rear tires. Never seen them on the roof.

Same, it is called paint protection film. Basically a tough clear sticker.

Never seen one on a roof.
