I have a spare tire carrier from an 87 Bronco II that has a built in lock mechanism that locks the spare tire that slides on a horizontal post. I've seen a number of these spare tire carriers with the three bolt/lug nut setup, and a post mount - but not a post mount with a built in lock.

Problem is that I don't have the key for the lock . I believe it's factory but can't find any markings on the lock or cylinder. Really would like to use this lock, guess I could still use the carrier without the lock, but the lock would be nice.

I could take it to a locksmith...but that could get pricey

Any ideas from the members? Have you seen this lock style? Any ideas on getting a key?

If you can remove the lock and take just it to a locksmith they can make a key pretty easily.....last one I had done (back hatch lock/door locks on an 89' B2) cost me less than $20.
