Is the low pressure side access on the drier? The drier is the canister infront of the air box right? Mine is a 84 Bronco II with the R-12, and I have the stuff to retrofit to 134a.

Virtually always, yes. Though it doesn't have to be, it seems very often designed that way.

A retrofit is more than just putting fittings on. At a minimum, you need to evacuate first. You MUST repair the problem causing the retrofit (if there isn't one, leave it alone), or it will just break again. It's advisible to replace O-rings, drier, and orifice tube, and to flush the old refrigerant oil out.
