Hey everyone,

I am new to the forum and a new bronco ii owner. I recently trade for a 1985 bronco ii. Well it was having “over heating” problems so I went to change the thermostat ( in the lower water inlet) and I strIpped the backing that the thermostat housing bolts to. I have a Haynes repair manual and have googled for days looking for the name and a part number for that part to see if it is available or discontinued. Any info at all is greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with the 2.8, however;
When you say stripped, do you mean the threads will no longer hold a bolt to torque? If so there are thread repair kits that might work. Helicoil is a brand name and there are several other manufacturers. As long as you have a straight shot with a drill it can be done on vehicle if necessary.
