I bought an 85 B2 about a month ago. It's project truck for sure. I'm discovering more and more problems with it. I took it to the shop to have the belts replaced and give it a general check. The engine is in pretty good shape, but I went this evening to pick it up and now there is a terrible grinding in at least 1st and reverse. The truck starts up fine and the gears cycle fine, but when I go to engage the clutch and start moving, there is a terrible grinding sound and I can't get the truck to move more than a couple of feet. I didn't try any other gears because it's raining pretty bad here, but this is happening in both 1st and reverse. Any ideas? I guess I'll be taking it to a transmission doctor soon.

Maybe your clutch isn't fully disengaging or synchro in first is bad. I'm guessing you have the fm145? It doesn't have a reverse synchro. Maybe try bleeding your slave and master clutch cylinder as a starter.
