The upcoming Ford Bronco will share the Ford Ranger platform, just like the 1983-1990 Ford Bronco II was based off of the 1983-1990 Ford Ranger. The Bronco will actually be based off of the Ford Everest ( also known as the Ford Endeavour in the Indian market), but will receive a facelift for the U.S. market.

When you look back at the Ford Bronco history, it basically falls in to (3) categories:

1966-1977 Early Bronco (midsize)
1978-1996 Full Size Bronco
1983-1990 Bronco II (midsize based off of the Ford Ranger)

Of all of the Bronco's ever produced, the Bronco II has been given the least amount of respect by truck enthusiasts. And of all of the Bronco's produced, guess which one is coming back to life! Yep, the one based off of the Ford Ranger. That's why we're talking about it here. This site is dedicated to the Bronco's that have been based off of the Ford Ranger.

Yeah, not really impressed with the body style. Looks more like an Explorer than Bronco. If I wanted a 4 door, maybe, but I already have a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Maybe it'll look better in production. But thanks for the look.

Its not Terrible... and considering the looks of most newer vehicles it might sell good, and really, even tho the B2 was never as popular as the early or full size Bronco's... in todays market its probably a good choice. Most buyers today I think want smaller suv's with all the creature comforts they can pack into it, and they rarely go off road so they dont need anything more.

Depending on how this new one turns out, maybe the Bronco II will be the Bronco given the 2nd least respect.

I'm looking for a Jeep Wrangler fighter, not a mom-mobile. I already have a Gen 5 Exploder, and I'll keep it vs. this.

I'm hedging my bet that I'll be disappointed by getting my Bronco II back in order and on the street/trail.

It looks similar to an SUV but I can't remember the exact model. It looks familiar.

Kind of looks like a cross between a Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a Toyota 4Runner....trouble is since they ruined the "Ranger" by bringing it back as a Ford Explorer Sport Trac in a bloated size with no engine/transmission options and a ridiculous price tag I can imagine how much they'll manage to screw up a "Bronco"....GM already screwed up the "Blazer" by turning it into another Toyota Rav4 copy so I'm sure Ford will destroy the new Bronco by doing the same copy with the new small Bronco, while the new larger Bronco will be a Ford Explorer....err Everest pile of trash.

I'll be keeping my Bronco 2 for sure...I tried to look at a new Ranger and its just not a Ranger, I've had 2 Rangers an 84 and a 93 those were Rangers, that disaster with a Ranger sticker on it now isn't a Ranger at all. Its more like they threw a cheesy complicated AWD system into a Ford Escort station wagon and glued on a truck bed....err suitcase rack and called it a day. I just can't find anything Ranger like on the new Rangers, they're way too big, way too complicated, and way overpriced for what the Ranger was supposed to be for, the weekend DIYer, the contractors and service industry...its far out of reach for those applications that those people actually wanted the Ranger for...great going Ford you failed once again.
