i believe there is a tan/yellow wire on the 4.0 harness that you need to splice with the one that runs the tach on the 2.9. I havent dont my swap yet, i start tonight. But i have also heard there is no designated wire for the tach on the 2.9 so idk how it works. Look at the schematic!

I have done this, and my tach does work, but I cannot remember the color of the 2.9 wire. I have been looking when I have time, and I will find this answer.

Hitchner is correct about the tan/yellow wire on the 4.0 harness.

Ok, I now remember why I don't have the color of the wire for the tach in the 2.9 harness. I never found or identified that wire, I found the pin on the back of the cluster and traced it's line back along the circuit board.

ALIK, what wires did you use to power the fuel pump, starter and main power? I have power to my dash and everything but the fuel pump wont turn on. I spliced Red/Lt Grn to Red/Lt Grn and Red/Lt Blue to Pink.

look at the pictures:
first: fuel pump connector whith wire from 4.0 hairnes

power for ignition and PCM, you need wire, I'm just take wire in shope and connect(let's call it "handmade")

here connect handmade wire to 4.0 hairnes

use this wire to power ignition

tаke power from this connector

power for fuel pump

if you have any question i'll try to answer
