Twin turbo 84" B2

So I've been kicking the idea of a twin turbo B2 in my head for awhile now and was woundering if it's even possable ? or is there not enough room in the engine comparment ? I have found a kit that comes with everything including the turbo's for just over $2,000 , But dont know if i should try it or am i getting in over my head ? i was going to use a roller 5.0 motor.

With a bit of clever fab work, I bet you could fit twin turbos under the hood. I don't know what your fabrication skillset is, but it would take a good amount of time and tweaking to make it work, and work right. If it were me I'd leave the turbo stuff for the mini truck guys, and just drop a 5.0 in there

I don't think I understood you at first. Are you talking about either putting twin turbos on your 2.9 OR dropping a 5.0 in, or are you talking about dropping a 5.0 in AND putting twin turbos on it? Cause that turbo kit looks like its for a v8

Looks like he wants to twin turbo a 5.0.

I think you could probably get it all to fit, but heat and keeping the engine cool is going to be a major issue. It's hard enough just keeping a regular 5.0 cool in one of these vehicles.

Yea i was woundering the same thing about heat in the engine compartment ?
My old B2 had a 351-w with a james duff 3 core radiator and twin 1,860 c.f.m flex-a-lite electric fans and I still had problems with it overheating. Some one told me to pull the inner plastic wheel well linnings to cool it better
if I do it ? But I don't think that it is going to do much for cooling ?
The kit is actualy for a late 70's to early 80's foxbody mustang , But the B2 is a foxbody vehical also so I dont see a reason why it would not
work with some fab work ?

Today I pulled three cars from a friends property. Her husband died a year ago and she is cleaning up her place. I got to keep the cars I hauled out. 1. 1967 Ford F-100, so-so. 2. 1967 Lincoln Conny, what a barge! 3. 1987 Turbo T-Bird. I think I have plans for that engine.

Keep the 87 turbo tbird ! I had a 84 and let me tell you that parts for thoes cars are getting very hard to come by. You could keep the motor and part out the rest of the car and make a nice little chunk of money. I just sold the large V.A.M
(mass airflow) from my old car and just the rubber tube is going for $30 , not to mention the vam themselves are going for around $100 so theres some good money to be made as long as the car is in good condition.

But as far as the twin turbo 5.0 goes , My brother is telling me to put a 4bt cummins in and forget the v-8 . So what do you all think ? Twin turbo 5.0 or 4bt cummins ? Whats the pro's and con's of both engines ?

I never understood all the fervor over the cummins 4bt. They are heavy, slow and smell bad. 785 lbs with oil, 105 horsepower and 260 lb/ft of torque. We aint even talking about adapters etc., etc. Whoopee! 302 Ford, 450 lbs, variable horse power and torque, basically what ever you can afford. And it fits in a BII like it belongs there. Twin turbos? Maybe. Oh, yeah, what about costs? Junkyard cummins, 3K and up. New base reman cummins? 5K and waaaayyyy up. For the cost of a junkyard 4bt one could have a very competent 302/5.0. Just sayin'.

HA!! Those wrecks weren't much to photograph. They are long gone. The BOSS won't let me keep wrecks around long. SHE thinks the neighbors will be offended. My opinion is ****EM!!! At any rate the hulks are gone but the goodies remain. I shall endeavor to persevere.

Oh yeah!! I have a spotless '85 BII and early, (77), Bronco D44 and 9", but no official engine, yet. I'm thinking a turbo 4cyl might be pretty cool.
