I plan to build a tire carrier at some point. But I put some paint on the rear bumper and it's ready to go on.

Sooooooo much to do.

Got to dig out the welding table and add some light tabs and a cb antenna/flag pole tab to the front bumper.

I decided with the bed liner paint job and where this truck will be 90% of the time... it's gonna get camo. I used the darkest gray for the bumpers.

Bought it some Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax, along with a couple microfiber applicator pads and more microfiber towels.

Had thought about a clay bar.. but thats getting way too into it for me. A foam gun might be a possibility though..

The plan before waxing is gonna be a good spray with some iron remover followed by bug&tar, good wash, wipe with iso.. then butter it up. The wax seems to go on real easy according to all its reviews.. lots of folks say it's a 20 minute ordeal for a whole vehicle (once prepped).. so I'd like to do at least 2 coats to start.

All this (besides the basic wash) is ALL new to me lol.. I really like the bronco.. BIGTIME.. she shines in the sun 😍🤩 totally willing to step out of my usual routine and do the extras to keep it looking nice.

Started making a little platform/storage area for the area behind the back seats in my '23.

The back seat bottoms flip up & forward, allowing the upright bit of the seats to fold forward nice and flat.

The top of the platform will be level with the folded down seats.. so the dog will have a nice big level area to nap, obsessively lick himself, or chase his tail.. the top of the platform is going to be hinged for access to tools/recovery gear and also the factory hatch thing for the jack and whatever else.

Took it on a bottle run...

Also.. may or may not have went 100mph in it over the weekend.. and it may or may not have been real exciting because I may or may not have gone that fast in something for the better part of a decade lol. I'm getting old 😪

There's almost enough cans to make a payment.

I sure don't miss having to do that...

Payments? Or return bottles? Lol.

Both are a bit of an annoyance though, definitely.

Both...

Illinois does not do the bottle return thing.

I also haven't had a truck payment in a long time.

That might change if Fird ever builds something I want to buy.

Rumor has it that a bronco pickup is still gonna be a thing in 2025 or so 🤔..

I'm gonna believe that one when I see it.

My guess is it will have too many doors and not enough bed fir my likings anyway.

Too many doors will probably be the truth if it does end up becoming a real thing. A cab and a half type rig would be dreamy..

Finished my spare tire carrier today. Original was the standard exterior type but my rear door had sustained damage between the latch mount and the window. Had another door but from a truck with an interior spare so it had no notch for the carrier upper mount.
I framed to the old rear seat mounts, fabricated a mount for a spare spindle and rotor. Tire freely spins in the mount.

Well that's a pretty slick idea...

That could also work on a swing out carrier but the weight of the spindle and rotor might not work so well.

My credo
Do what you can with what you have where you are
The old radio finally stopped working. So I replaced it with a new Sony MexN4308T Am/FM Radio, CD, USB, Bluetooth unit. Looks good allows me to BT my phone and play ITunes music.
