I'm wanting to buy 5 rims for my stock ride height 87 bronco ii. Should I go for 15 x 8 or try to find closer to stock. I'm looking for a fairly cheap set no more than 300$ if possible. I'm going for 235 75r15 tires

8's are the typical after market rim width, you shouldn't have any issues with that rim and those tires.

look for the back spacing on the rim. negative numbers will push the rim out farther, positive numbers will bring the rim in. Look for a -5 or more to push the rim out and away from the hub. I have -15 on my wheels running 31s and they don't rub at all, pushes it out a little past the edge of the fender

Craigslist is a good place to find pretty cheap wheels.

My credo
Do what you can with what you have where you are
I just took off a set of 15X7 inch rims with 235/75R15 tires to replace with the stock OEM 15X6 inch rims with 205/75R15 tires. It made a huge difference on the B2. You can really tell the difference in the rolling resistance. It shifts better and does not shift down as much going up hills and the road noise is way lower.
