The 27,000 Mile 1988 Ford Bronco II

It’s hard to believe that this 32-year old 1988 Ford Bronco II is a one owner vehicle with only 27,000 miles on it. Crazy but true. The Bronco II still has it’s new showroom look and feel. This Bronco II was sold by Nazareth Ford (Nazareth Pennsylvania) on August 29th 1988. After the owner died in 2016, his wife sold it back to Nazareth Ford in May of 2019. The dealer then re-sold it to MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, Massachusetts, who sold it to an unknown owner for $22,500 on August 26th, 2019.

This 1988 Ford Bronco II XLT was built on April 29, 1988 and is one of 403 examples finished in two-tone Silver Metallic (6349) and Bright Regatta Blue Metallic (6352) with Regatta Blue cloth for the model year.

The Regatta Blue cloth lines the 60/40-split front and 50/50-split rear benches. The matching blue carpeting, floor mats, door panels, and headliner can seen in the gallery below. Amenities include power windows and locks, as well as cruise control.

The matching blue dashboard and tilting two-spoke steering wheel can be seen in the below driving video. A simulated wood dash panel surrounds the instruments, cassette head unit, and HVAC controls. The electronic 4×4 control panel is mounted to the ceiling between the sun visors.

Power is provided by a fuel-injected 2.9-liter V6 producing 140 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and an electronically-controlled 4×4 system that sends power to the 3:73 geared axles.

The 15” cast aluminum wheels are mounted with American Prospector tires. The original owner used this 4×4 for occasional snow plowing, and the seller removed the plow equipment and wiring. Yep that’s right. This beautiful Bronco II was used to plow snow!!

The optional swing-away spare tire carrier retains a Bronco II-branded cover.

The addendum to the window sticker from Nazareth Ford depicts an original price of $17,780 with the optional Protection Package, which encompassed rust proofing, paint sealant, and fabric protection.

Welcome to the Bronco Corral. As a long time Ford Truck enthusiast, I've been a fan of the Ford Bronco and Bronco II. In fact, I've completely rebuilt a Bronco II of my own. The Bronco Corral originally started as the Bronco II Corral, but in 2020 I decided to expand it to include all Ford Bronco's, and welcome the upcoming 2021 Ford Bronco. Thanks for stopping.
