:sad:unfortunately my 4door explorer is parts only, open the doors and you see terra firma instead of rocker panels:icon_rofl:
my 2door has a mint body:D came from NC in 2003 and only saw 8000miles since then:icon_thumby:
I recently purchased a 1996 2door explorer sport and it only has seat belts for 2 in the rear. the 2 seats are very wide IMHO so i'm wondering about a 3seater.
has anyone here seen a rear seat w/3 seatbelts?
presently it looks like a 50/50 split, would a 60/40 or other options be made ...
If you were closer, and in my country I have a complete 94 Explorer Xlt 4door with 3.73s and a LS rear. Its a rotten pile but I bought it off a coworker because I knew how well it was maintained. haven't used it yet to convert my 2wd explorer 2 yrs later .:dunno:
thanks for the link, :icon_cheers: read the whole thread and it turns out I already have most of the pieces I need.:icon_thumby:
I saw a narrowed fullsize Dana 44 HP on coils and thats probably what I will use.
my last offroad truck was a 79 supercab shortbed 60/70 351m 4spd/205, 6"...
have a 1996 EXplorer 5.0 AWD, and wanting to make it a SAS but would like to use a steering box instead of the :sad:rack......
Saw a 97 with a SAS and 1st generation steering box but no pics of swap or info(its for sale) and wondering if anyone else has done this. details/links/directions...
those front spring mounts look an awful lot like 77.5-79 F250 front frame ends and spring brackets. I like it. just like old time racin, run what ya brung. :)
Well I bought it, picking up Saturday noonish. The guy handed me a new, never used "Ford" 6disc CD remote player which he says they never used since they bought the Ex. :D
now I have to talk the wife into paying me something out of her account for the snows, so my play fund stays up...
I have an offer on a 1996 Explorer with a 5.0 in it. I wanted it for the 4 new snows on it, for my wife's 92 explorer. Bolt ons no dismounting required:icon_thumby:
It actually runs pretty decent and was wondering if this is the "GT40" 5.0 or just a plain old 5.0?
the body is toast, open...
AHHHH....:thefinger:
the 5spd explorer I looked at was an electric case, and 3.27 open 8.8.
I was told it had manual Tcase and 4.10 limited slip. Not Quite  glad it was only 1/2hour away.
I will keep looking. it was only $250 but was just about rotted into the ground...
Well here is an update with good and bad news:icon_confused:
Good first :Drove it about 20miles to the shop with the wife following(she had not seen it before) and no problems, went down the road excellent noisy exhaust that I already knew about . Only problem I noticed was a cracked...
Seriously? I thought the D35 would bolt in where the twin I beam comes out.
I mentioned to the seller what I was doing with it and he is giving me a pair of "coil spacers" for the front. sounds wierd to me but he drives a big yellow explorer 4x4 and its definitely been used.:D and I've had...
Exactly..... found that out today when I heard it run and drove it around a bit. Picking it up Saturday or Sunday.
$300 runs great and come with excellent michelin tires on J#$* rims.
leaning towards swapping bodys and putting in a bodylift while its apart. will see what happens...
I am looking at buying a 1992 Explorer 4door 2wd with a nice body, actually it has its original rockers and gate in good shape, nice interior and a low 190,000km on it.
I already have a 1994 explorer 4x4 with lots of new parts, runs drives great but body is beyond repair.
I was thinking...
