well, I used a 79 302 and can tell you a little.....The oil unit will not work if your truck came with a guage instead of a light.....the 79 302 I used had an oil light so I used the sending unit off of my 2.9 and it works fine with the stock gauge.... The temp. unit will work fine......

yep, right thru the bellhousing bolts.....once they are out, everything slides out the front.....

not that i can think of.....should just bolt right up....did you get that shaft out?

Most times there is just a snap ring that holds the tailshaft in place....and then it slides out the back toward the endhousing... Oh, the planetary and everything on the shaft has to be pulled off to get to the snap ring.

the trans. has to be tore completely apart.....

I have just massacred the passenger side of that tri-y.....hope it fits....

I am going thru the exact same thing......Whoever said the mustang tri-y's fit are full of sh**.....I am going to cut about 4 inches out of the passenger side header today at work and will have to bend the drivers side over to clear the front driveshaft......
