I just replaced mine with a u joint shaft & used blue threadlock so I wouldn't need to heat them.

You could have gotten a pair of springs from an early Explorer and put them on. And I've been told that you get roughly a 1" lift by doing it.

You might have a blown fuse. If you don't have a bad fuse then it could be the controller or motor. Good luck.
