    Powertrax in a front axle

i had a lunchbox locker in the front of my explorer and it wasn't terrible in deep snow, but packed snow and ice was not very pleasant. i wouldnt recommend it

    Lost power to rear wheels...

i've never seen the stock driveshaft fail in a way that wasn't catastrophic, so i'd be looking at the spiders

The end on a wonderful day..

huh? the cut outs will cover up the cut, you won't be able to tell it's not the prettiest, or are the cuts all wrong? can't tell from the pic

Is a Dana 35 a direct bolt in for the Dana 28??

direct bolt in except for the driveshaft at 6" of lift or so i didn't need to shorten it, but it was very close to needing it lower than that, and i'd expect that it's necessary only other concern is whether the gears match the rear

MY hatch is the dirtiest thing on the planet.

mine was always the opposite - no matter how dirty the rest of the truck was, the hatch never seemed to get nearly as bad

Lost all my oil on 2 seconds - like an oil bomb went off

i had pictures when mine exploded, but i don't know where they are. this was a couple years ago never had a problem with any other filter on that truck again, and AFAIK i haven't heard of problems since i sold it the filter had ruptured on the side - i figured it was just one that made it...

Lost all my oil on 2 seconds - like an oil bomb went off

that happened to me as well - same problem, same filter the filter failed spectacularly - it wasn't double gasketed. just a bad filter. no post-failure engine problems, but it happened while i was still on the driveway

i think the problem is because the roof line is so "thick" compared to the body line of the truck and if you chopped it a few inches it would look much better

if you slam it, please chop the roof i think they look weird slammed with such a tall roof line. take a couple inches out of it and i think it'd look alright, just no idea how you deal with glass then. i'd love to see it covered to give it a box truck look

    Dana 28 Diff swap question?

yes, the pinch bolt leave me alone, it was early :) it's been probably a couple of years since i've seen a TTB axle. mostly I remembered how big of a pain it was on the 35

    Dana 28 Diff swap question?

at the point where you're getting to that bolt to swing the pumpkin out, it might just be easier to swap the whole thing
