if you have an automatic currently in your BII then you'll have a C5. All you have to do is swap the output shafts then it will bolt right back up to your transfer case and you won't have to do any tweaking. Same drive shaft and your tranny and transfer case will be in the same position.
I had the same problem with my 84. I started by cleaning the ground on the wiper motor on the firewall real good and made sure it was grounded properly. this fixed it 100%. it's in a pretty vulnerable spot and rusts pretty easy, so just take a wire brush to the surfaces and use a battery...
