I replaced my fm145 in a 87 ranger from a 92 ranger M50D, I kept clutch, flywheel and starter, things that I had to change driveshaft length, and the clutch pedal had to have a rod to go to the left a couple of inches...
ok so in the old carb days we use to pour a quart of mystery oil in, talk about smoke! I wonder how similar it is? I still throw it into the gas every now and again... haven't figured out how to put it in now thru the tbi!
