Here is my craigslist find -

I was searching for an older Ranger or BII to use as a winter driver so I can park my gen1 Bronco when the salt starts spreading in the midwest. Quite a nice example with a manual tranny! It was sold to me with 54k displayed on the odo and the seller thought it was likely 154k; it was his wife's elderly parents vehicle. I have changed all fluids and flushed the cooling system. I had the rotors turned and the brake pads were stamped with the Ford logo. When I changed the plugs and the wires, the wires were marked Motorcraft and 1986. The interior is in very good shape as well and the seats (driver included). I really think the real mileage is 54k.
Besides the regular maintenance, I have replaced the steering wheel (original was leather covered) with one from a earlier model BII/Ranger. I like the plain wheel better and thought it would be plug and play since it had the same cruise buttons as the original. All was well until I started looking for horn attachments. Read here that the earlier ones had the horn on the turn stalk - forgot about that. Checked continuity on the original and determined connecting the inner and outer rings sounded the horn. A little jumper made from a portion of a paperclip and now the cruise "OFF" honks the horn! :D
Have a little 2.9L tick from one of the lifters; we'll see if it stays and/or annoys me enough to do something about it.
Enjoying the truck!

Great looking Bronco 2. Not many around that are in good condition, many have been wrecked, or otherwise damaged, paint falling off, modified, etc.

I have an 88 B2 and love it. From what I've ran across the valve train noise is far worse on the 2.9L V6 engines than it was on the 2.8L V6's...well I've had both engines and I can say for a fact the 2.9L V6 is worse LOL. Not much you really can do on that I don't think.

Yep the horn button was on the turn signal stalk on the 84/85 Bronco 2's.
