okay so im swapping in a 2.9& manual 5 speed into my BII because: A. im poor, B. a4ld went out, C. i have nothing better to do.

im going from a 87 ranger into my 85 BII,
so far i have both engines out, and everyhting ready to go in.
my bronco ii is completely stripped down lierally to the bare metal. today i took out the wiring harness from my ranger, it has elec. tc and cruise control, my 85 BII has neither. as i was looking at the wiring, i noticed a box located between the speakers underneath a cover on top of the dash, im not sure what it is, but if its something fancy i dont want to waste time putting it in.

also, theres another box under the dash on the drivers side with its own wires thats pretty much isolated from the rest of the harness, has its own hole thru the firewall. im thinking it could be for the cruise cont. but im not sure.
do you guys have any idea what these things are for?

Under the oblong cover on the right side is one of two things...
A)The amplifier for the factory "premium sound"
B)The control unit for the electric shift Transfer case.

The item you show in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th pictures are Electric shift control unit.

The 5th and 6th pictures show the cruise control control unit and the
wiring harness for it.

well considering that the item in the 2nd thru 4th picture is what was inside the oblong cover, im guessing its the electric shift control. :D
but i also found some ford plastic speaker enclosures behind the seats, would that count as "premium sound"?

i dont care much for the curise control, and im trying to clean up the wiring shiit, so i guess i can just remove all the cc components?
and im not planning on using the electric tc either, i have a mechanical one on my bench :headbang:
