I have a 1988 ford bronco II that i just purchased. The truck has a spark and fuel problem but im working on the fuel problem first. I have replaced the fuel pump and it still wont turn on. the only way i can get it to turn on is by jumping the yellow wire and the org/lt blue wire on the fuel pump relay but when a relay is plugged in it wont turn on. please help me. thank you

Try replacing that relay for starters.

No spark either? Is there power going into the coil?

There is 2 pumps on her. In tank and frame rail mounted. Low and high pressure. Make sure both of them are working. 89+ only had one.

There is a computer ground wire that can get unplugged and will cause your problem. The ground I'm thinking about runs near the battery to the frame ground where the battery negative cable attaches to the frame. It is a black 12 guage wire that has a pull apart connector about 1 foot above the frame.

It sounds to me like you might have a problem in the control circuit for the relay either the ground like previously mentioned or an open in the power supply wire

i have checked the inertia swith and picked up and swapped out two others. they work because when i bypass the pump relay they turn on. I have no spark, what could cause this. I have replaced the tfi and i still get nothing. if i can get spark and bypass the fuel pump relay i think it should run???

Have you found the computer ground wire I mentioned yet? I know of 2 BII's that have had that connection pull apart. It causes no fuel, no spark, and unable to read codes.

Fuel pump relay
fuse
fuseable link.
grounds
Inertia switch.

Hand check the wires from the relay to the fuel pump. you can use a multi meter with continuity checker put one probe on either end on the wire to see if you any breaks. P/s also check the wires from the inerta switch to the relay. the inerta switch kiils the power to the relay block
