I'm kicking around the idea of putting a C5 behind my 4.0L. I've read allot of conflicting stories on these two trannys. If i build the C5 what parts in it should I replace with C4 parts in order for it to handle the 4.0L. Some people say they are equal in strength some say the C4 is stronger but dont say for what reasons and others say the C5 can take more clutches making it better. What I'm looking for is a list of specific parts that are better and why. I have a complete C5 less the torque converter + I have a burned up C4 that came out of my 75 Bronco that was built with a reverse valve body that I hated. Thanks for your time. RB

Put the V8 C4 valve body. The main weak point of the RBV C5 is the soft and slippery shifts.
