I'm in the process of swapping an a4ld to an fm146. The A4ld is in an 87 BII and the clutch is out of an 89 BII. Does the clutch pedal come off and will it go on to my BII? Or do I need to remove the entire pedal assembly (clutch, brake, and gas) and swap all of them?

you should have to swap the entire pedal assembly over including the master cylinder assembly under the hood. Hope your conversion goes well for you!

ok you will need to get the clutch and brake pedals from a 84-88 and swap in you do not need to change out the mounting bracket for them. The 1989 mounting bracket and pedals are different than the 1984-1988. I just had this problem this summer on my project.

You can pull the pedals out without pulling the steering colum or the mounting bracket for them it is a pain in the rear but it can be done.
