I have both. Each of them have their strengths and weaknesses. I also have a Ford Shop Manual.

I've always used Chilton. Just seem to like it better, could be that I remember when I was a kid, my Dad using the big hard cover chilton manual.

I like the chilton's better.

Although, very rarely do I ever use it....

Sometimes they can be helpful, but they just do not have enough detail.

What I really like is the actual shop manuals and EVTMs. The shop manual for my junk car has been very helpful. Found it for $30 on Ebay.
