Holley and duraspark on a 2.8

I have a quick question. I've been collecting part to do the conversion. I have a holley 350 cfm carb right now. What I would like to know is can I put the new carb on right now before I do the rest of the ignition? Will it run right? I have a '85 Bronco II.
