starts funny cold

my buddy has a 1990 bronco ll 2.9L V6 and when it is cold and you first try to start it you can keep cranking for how long and it wont start but if you let off and crank it over again it fires right up so why is it doing that

check the ground wires

or...the ignition switch is getting worn abit?

has it tripped any codes?

maybe a coolant sensor??

extreme cold starting

Try this turn on ignition but do not crank it stab gas to floor then crank it.
