After years of running 30 x 9.5 15s BFG long trail TAs, on a 2in trailmaster lift on my 88 B2, a daily driver and occasional weekend off-road fun they are shot. I am thinking of putting some 255 70 15s touring tires from Pep boys on her for stictly street use. I want the wide footprint with a little lower profile, I think I would lose less that an inch of overall diameter but gain a little width? Has anyone run these type of tires on their B2 and any suggestions??/ THANKS

I actually have a set on my B2 now. It gives it a MEAN stance, truck looks like it's gonna eat someone...lol

As for how they handle, I do not know but in a week or so I'll be able to tell you. I just need to get my tranny swap finished...lol

c-kid --any photos and do you have any lift on your B2. I've seen 255 60 15s on a 90 stock b2 but I think if I go 70 instead of 60 theyll look ok with my lift. I think the difference in diameter between my current BFGs is very little but the 255s should have a wider footprint. THANKS

No lift, I actually have "sub squat" in the back of my truck because of my subs and amp. I'll see if I can upload some pictures tonight or tomorrow morning.

I ran 245/60R15 cooper cobra's up front, and 295/50R15 cobra's out back on my 97 when I had her. That thing could take any corner in town at about any speed and never hear them squeal or feel them losing traction. Of course the tire size is different that yours, and It was on a Ranger, but I figured I'd toss my little bit of experience in the ring.

Just dont want to buy the 255s and have any rubbing issues, I think they are a bit wider than the 30x9.5 tires ive been running...

Nice - thanks for the pics, I wussed out and ended up going with replacement Dunlop 30 9.5 15s, got a good deal on them and they actually look awesome, better tahn the bfgs I had. i Think the 255 70s would've looked good but not with my lift, the do look sweet on the stock suspension B2. I imagine they will ride nice as well, give it a nice wide stance and lessen the rollover factor a bit, I post a pic when I get one uploaded...
