I bought a set of A pillars that do not fit my 1986 Bronco II XLT, they apparently fit the Eddie Bauer edition - difference is my vehicle has a metal trip piece above the doors that the A pillar matches up to and these are plastic trim above the doors. It will cost me too much to send them back...
Can anyone please post a photo for me showing how the drivers seat and seat belt are attached on a 1986 Bronco II with the bucket seats - driver seat has the attached arm rest, no console on this years model?
Ok,I gave up and took the Bronco to a local mechanic who is known for finding electrical issues on older vehicles and it turned out the short was in the wire that goes to the light under the hood (there is no light there but apparently there is still a wire that can short out) - Dennis suggested...
I ordered two replacement door jam switches and will try replacing those. I was able to find a new headlamp switch and the pigtail harness on Amazon and will check that out to see if that is the problem. Other interior lights don’t work either i.e. radio, instrument panel so maybe replacing...
The 15amp fuse that controls interior map, dome and cargo lights keeps blowing. We isolated the wire that goes to the dome and cargo lights and do not feel there is a problem there. The fuse still keeps blowing and the map lights don’t work. Anyone out there have any ideas?
the rims have three holes that line up with the wheel caps, so yes I think I have the correct rims. I found another option from the drywall anchors that I think are going to work great, they are the nylon nut and screws that you use to affix your license plates on a vehicle. I’ll let you know...
Finally found the correct A Pillars for my 1986 Bronco II, they are red so I will need to clean, sand and re-paint them blue to match my interior. These parts are so hard to find and so delicate to work with. Thanks for the help.
Wish I could find a photo showing how the driver side interior seat belt is attached to the seat, I still have not figured this out so I’m taking a break on this and moving on to other items on my long list of fixes.
I found the fuse for the interior lights and when I try to replace it it sparks, so I have a short somewhere. Any ideas on how to track down the short? My map lights, dome light and cargo light all work off this fuse, so no interior lights for me until I find the short.
