I am swapping a 90 4.0l into my 1988 bronco 2.For the time being I want to use my 2.9l flywheel and clutch.The 4.0 manual trans starter just freewheels.I read on another forum thet using the starter from a 4.0l automatic trans will work as the tooth thickness and count are the same.Anyone had any experience with this.I just need it to be driveable for awhile so I can get the bigger flywheel,clutch,8.8 diffs,ect from my 91 explorer removed and then it will get all the big stuff.
