So yesterday my Transfer Case blew, managed to get it home but the case is cracked along the rear of the unit to the output of the rear driveline.
I have 2 quick questions.....

1. if the tag identifying the model of the T case is gone, where else can I find it? I was hoping to find it in the VIN maybe??
2. Is there any other T Case ( Ranger, Mazda ) that would fit or even be stronger without replacing the trans?? PS I will be doing the 4.0 upgrade but not until this 2.9 is done, lots of life in her yet.

Ill be online all day, gotta get this worked out asap.. thanks in advance for your efforts. Jay.

Curious if you got things figured out? I've got an 87 BII. Is your to t-case auto or manual? How does front drive shafts connect? I pulled one from a 91 Explorer used the Explorer front shafts as well.

My BII has the 5.0 conversion done with AOD.

BW1350 transfer case is the manual shift
BW1354 transfer case is the electric push button shift

You have one or the other depending on if you have the manual or electric shift. You can pull one out of a Ranger or Bronco 2.

This link may help you quite a bit figure out what years you can grab another T-case from: http://therangerstation.com/tech_library/TransferCases.html

I thought the BW 1350 was the Automatic and the BW 1354 was the manual? I have the manual hubs and shifter and my transfer case is a BW 1354M I believe.
