well i managed to get the thing home today but with major problems , all of a sudden the starter solenoid just buzzes , does not turn over , i am trying to chase down the issue , but no luck , replaced the battery , cable ends and solenoid , all to no avail , gonna change the cable from battery to solenoid tomorrow

also changed the shifter today , the bushing was gone and i just happened to have a spare shifter in the garage , but it had the longer stub so i had to switch the bottoms , and here are 2 pics of the new shifter setup , it used to have one of them gay cheapo autozone light up style handles on it

also now considering making the doors removeable

well here are some pics from the progress of the past 2 days

first i got the starting issue solved , tured out to be a bad starter causing all my issues

here is the starter that came out

and today i got her up on jackstands and got the wheels off so i can put the 31's on these rims , and pulled the rear diff apart to get the carrier welded at school

and thanks to my big jack and jackstands i got plenty of height

well , made the final decision today , gonna scrap the D44 TTB plan in favor of an EB D44 SAS and then use the 8.8 31-spline for the rear after i narrow it down , working on the suspension geometry over the next couple weeks for the rear, and wondering on a couple things for this project , so looking for input

1. i am gonna stick with the 2.9 in this thing , it may get swapped out for one in better condition in the near future , but still gonna be a 2.9 none the less , what would be a good idea for gears , i am going with 35's , i was thinking maybe 4.56's

2. what size springs should i run in the front , i am using 63 inch leaves in the back (rearched to fit a custom distance mount setup) and 6400 shackles , looking to get about 6 inches of lift , so looking for an idea on front springs

answers to my questions are greatly appreciated

with 2.9 and 35s i think 4.56s are too low, id lean towards 5.13s
