I didn't think it would work.
Picked up the tires and put them on. Checked to make sure the steering worked. Went wheeling to test it out. Little bit of rub on inner fender at full lock but nothing major.

32x11.50 BFG A/Ts on stock steel Jeep wheels. Stock '91 Explorer.

I like running steel wheels for wheeling. Plus I got the whole set of wheels and tires for $25. For that deal I'd run just about anything. Craigslist is great! I've got less than $500 in the whole rig and that includes purchase price.

Jeep wheels have more backspace than stock Explorer or Ranger wheels, meaning that the tires are more likely to rub on the inside.

32" BFG A/T'S on 3.5 in backspacing wheels for a jeep. Stock suspension, it rubbed the front of the sideskirts, I just need to cut them and put them back on, or just take the rest of it off. The passenger side rubs about mid turn on the wheel. But just barely on the inner fenderwell.

figured ide throw a pic of mine in here. mines a 99 awd with a 302 3" body lift 33x12.50on 15"rims when im wheeling i only get a small amount of rub when i got the wheels turned all the way and im rolling over something plus i had to trim the lower portion of the bumper. other then that it rides very smooth.

I just strapped the inside fenders with big zip ties to frame to pull it back to clear the tires
