Saturday I burnt three coil packs on my 93 explorer, found that I had a short, that problem is fixed:beer:. Now it is tough to trun over and sounds like its missing. the computer code is saying that there is a problem with the coil pack that is new aswell with new plugs and new plug wires. It will idle well but has some lops. I am lost and also have five ASE master mechanic's brains lost aswell. could this be a coil pack isuse or a crankshaft sensor issue. PLEASE HELP I NEED MY TRUCK BACK!!! ITS HUNTING SEASON!!!!:icon_cheers:

Do you have an induction style timing light? If so clip it on to each plug wire at idle and make sure you have a consistent spark at every one.

If not, let us know how inconsistent it is, I.e. Missing spark, extra sparks, random spark orders. You should be able to see the same tooth on the crank wheel in the same position every time.

Also while you have it out check the timing.
