how hard would it be to install a 4.0 SOHC/auto out of a 99 exploder 4x4 into a 89 bronco II 4x4, wiring being the main concern, obd 1 setup to obd 2, i don"t want to change the dash, or anything, want to keep the gen 2 dash,

does the 4.0 OHC engine mounts work? would i need both parts the block mount and the engine cradle mounts?

just thinking, found a wrecked 99 explorer thinking of picking up, and being my 5.0 needs rebuilt and the 4.0 sohc puts out about the same if not more HP i was just kinda curious.

if i can"t get this 5.0 running tommarrow might go look at the exploder, speaking of which does the 99 use pats?

99 is PATS...so there is even more wiring to deal with than JUST an OBDII swap...You can flash the ECM to ignore a PATS signal...

you can delete this thread, the 5.0 gave me some hope today, heard her try to run for 3 seconds, my problems is in the wiring for the F.I., so may give on the FI and put a carb on her, not sure yet, also turned out today my timing was 180 degrees off, wouldn"t even start on starting fluid
