Hey guys last year i put a 92 4.0L in my 87 bronco 2 and everything went well and i had no problems. But now i just finished doing one on my 89 2.9L single cab ranger with the same year 4.0L and everything went well all the gauges are working and all the sensors and fuel pump except for when i start it the starter won't dissengage? Has anybody else ran into this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Things i tried to fix this problem:

-changed the starter
-changed the solenoid on pass side inner fender
-changed the ignition switch(the key tumbler)

thanks

The auto and manual starters are different lengths, make sure you don't have the wrong one ( think it's an auto starter on a manual tranny that makes it stay engaged or maybe it's the other way around?).
