I am looking for an ‘86 bronco II 4x4 manual instrument cluster. Here’s the situation, a shop broke a corner piece that holds the black plastic idiot light cover on, and the black cover is nowhere to be found. So actually I just need the black cover but it’s got to be the one with the appropriate lights / wording for my model. I could probably glue it on and make it work, but those covers are nonexistent, looks like you have to buy a whole cluster to get one. if I just swap out clusters, then I’ve got an odometer issue, question two is can the tach and speedometer be swapped out to the new white bezel easily? I haven’t pulled it back out of the car to take a look yet.

I’m having a hard time understanding what you broke. Cluster or bezel? Perhaps a picture?

Photo attached. And black light cover is gone.

Okay... so I don’t have a 1gen with a tach so mine are a little different. Only a single column of lights. However the black shade with the light designation is on the bezel not the cluster. Is your bezel missing the black shade? It’s plastic welded to the bezel.

Mine is held in place on the cluster with an upper right and lower right tab. They broke off the bottom tab, and lost the black shade.

Let’s see a picture of the bezel. I may have one on an old parts truck.

Sounds like you’re calling the wood grain dash piece covering the cluster as the bezel, which I'm sure is the correct term. It is fine. I just need the black shade cover, but I went ahead and ordered a new cluster.

I will check what I have.

Wow, if you could come up with one that would be great, there’s nothing around this area or on the internet (just a very few options on eBay).

So I’ve bought another cluster in good shape with 55k on the odometer, think I’ll just use the shade from it and leave the original cluster intact.

I doubt it will be an issue. A vehicle that old is past its life expectancy.

Speedo assembly swaps easily in the cluster.

I swapped my speedometer when I converted mine to a factory tach.
