I put a rebuilt trans in my truck in december 88 bronco 2 auto 2.9 4wd when i am coming to a stop its like its stick shift and i didnt let out the clutch but right before it would die it releases and then is fine
any ideas?

Sounds like the torque converter is staying in lock up until the transmission drops out of high gear. When coasing the A4LD stays in high gear till just about stopped.

I'd take it back to who ever rebuilt it and have them correct the problem.

does anyone know where the connector is located for the torque convertor lock up on the trans so i can just unplug it and see if that fixes it??

on the 88 it may have a single or dual lockup setup.


on the drivers side its the small connector just above the pan rail forward of the shifter.

yea guys i unplugged the connector and it still does it?? I geuss the guy who rebuilt it didnt know what he was doing but i just cant deal with it i dont have the time or the money. So tommorow the bronco gets traded in for something more reliable
