Can I advance the timing a bit on our 84 B2 to get some more power and if so how far can I go and still run regular with no pinging or such.?

Probably would have to retard it a couple degrees not advance it, but ya you can mess with it a little, trial and error method, leave the bolt just loose enough that you can turn the dist with a little force and go for test run, stop turn test, until you get the best results, make sure you get up to highway speeds each time. I doubt it will make alot of differance but it wont hurt anything. Dont forget to tighter the dist bolt when your done.
