Does anyone know if bucket seats from an Aerostar or Windstar will fit in an 86 BII? They are comfortable and my local junkyard is full of them. On the other hand, there are very few Exploders or BII's. ::icon_cheers:

I think alot of the ford seats will fit or at least can be retro fit using your current seat rails, I have leather Eddie bauer buckets from an explorer in my 88 B2 and they basically bolted right to the B2 seat rails.

The Aerostar seats are the same as the BII seats.

I would go with some '97-'01 Explorer leathers. That is what I am looking for to put in my BII.

No, they aren't. The backs are taller and the seat base cushions have a large angle built into them since they are flat on an aerostar floor. When you put them into a BII, the whole seat is relined back and is really uncomfortable because the BII floor has a rake built into it and it puts you into recline.

I thought the aerostar would fit as well, guess it depends on the year, try to find explorer, ranger, etc, maybe even mustang I've seen those as well, they will mostly bolt in.

there's an article in the TRS technical page that states that Tempo, Escort, and Mustang seats all fit. I don't imagine the Tempo or Escort seats to be much of an upgrade unless you get them out of a GT.

I have 2000 exploder seats waiting to go in mine. I am going to bend the rails and redrill holes since they are power and heated (really needed in cen. TEXAS). However, they do bolt to the stock rails. Not sure if they still line up on the floor though, didn't try yet. Will find out.

I try'd seats out of a cougar. And they are not direct fit. Need custom rails to make them work. But they are super comfy.

I have put cherokee seats in an Explorer before... not a direct fit but works with a few twitches...

how about back seats? did anyone try installing explorer back seats in a BII - 1990 model year? - it'sthe closest they ever got to an "X"...
