Last year my OEM TFI decided it didn't want to play anymore so it packed up its toys and left. I replaced it with a lifetime warranty unit from Autozone (house brand). It ran fine until last Tuesday. I took it back to Autozone, they gave me a new one right there and I finally got around to installing the new one Friday.
On lunch I took the truck to work (8 miles, around 15 minutes) and stopped on the drive home for gas. About half a mile from the house the truck loses all power and stalls. I curse for 20 minutes, after which she fired right back up and got me home.
I haven't pulled the newest one to test it yet.
Is there anything I should check other than point-to-point resistance on the TFI itself? Could this be linked to any other part of the ignition system?
Pretty desperate for a quick answer as I'm moving 70 miles away either Saturday or Sunday and either have to get the truck home or pawn it off on someone else...
