89 2.9 Bronco 2...

After cold start up, when I shift from 1st to 2nd, no matter how much throttle I apply or how much I wind up the rpm's, the motor bogs down hard. Not enough to choke it out, but pretty close. 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, no issue. Once the motor warms up, the 1-2 shift is normal.

Thoughts?

Yeah, it is...

I checked for vac leaks three times, she's a tight as she's going to get for being worn out.

I've let it idle for 15 minutes after startup, revved it a few times and everything seems ready to go, but that first 1-2 throw...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPPPPP.

Then you hit about 2K in 2nd, and she shoots back up, 3rd good, 4th, 5th and you're rolling.

Get to a light or sign, put it back in 1st, light goes green, and it runs perfect.

Well, as perfect as it can be for a 190K mile oil burning 2.9.
